Taormina Industries' specialized disposal and recycling services effectively and efficiently serve the business community. Solid waste and recyclables are collected via specialized routing programs, which maximize the recovery of recyclable materials from all types of businesses, large or small. Special disposal and handling needs required by customers are met through Taormina Industries' vast inventory of disposal and storage containers which are available in a variety of shapes and sizes.

In response to State of California recycling mandates, thousands of companies and commercial establishments throughout Southern California have selected Taormina Industries to manage their recycling efforts.

Customization is the key element in Taormina Industries' commercial recycling services. Beginning with a waste audit, an analysis of the volume and type of waste stream generated by each customer is established. A customized reduction and recycling program for the company's specific needs is then created. Some systems emphasize the collection of glass, metal or cardboard while others focus on document destruction or "clean" office paper and ledger paper recycling. Taormina Industries customizes each program to fit the customer's needs.

Emphasizing its support of commercial clients which elect to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, Taormina Industries created the Conserving Earth's Resources awards. These awards recognize outstanding corporate recycling programs as well as encourage other companies to join in the corporate commitment to protect the environment.

Serving Residential Needs

Always the innovator, Taormina Industries established the first residential collection program in California to provide fully automated, curbside collection for solid waste and commingled recyclables. In partnership with their contracted cities, Taormina Industries' recycling and collection programs achieve waste diversion rates in excess of State of California mandated goals.

A highly sophisticated, computerized data management system has been implemented to track the effectiveness of Taormina Industries' programs.

In addition, Taormina Industries' residential customers are offered a variety of other services, including container rentals, special clean-ups and bulky item hauling. Taormina Industries also operates a Public Disposal Center to accommodate customers who want a convenient alternative to making a trip to the landfill. A Public Recycling and Buy-Back Center is also available for use by the general public. Here, competitive prices are paid for all recyclable items, such as newspapers, aluminum, glass and plastic.

Another important Taormina Industries' service is the Orange County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center. For many years, residents had no options for disposing of household hazardous wastes. Taormina Industries' public/private partnership with the County of Orange provides the solution. Located at the company's headquarters, and operated by the County, the Center accepts household toxic wastes that are not permitted at landfills.
