| Taormina Industries’ business recycling services are
managed through CVT’s Commercial Recycling Division which assists companies in the
development of effective programs tailored to each company’s goal of reducing waste
and maximizing recycling. Today, all commercial operations can recycle, from construction
and manufacturing to offices, restaurants and retail stores. Developing the right plan for
each organization is the critical element to the program’s success. This is when
CVT’s experience and professional approach is needed. Recycling at the workplace enhances a company’s image, effectively improving the bottom line. By recycling, companies make a personalized corporate statement regarding the protection of the environment through the preservation of natural resources.
Office Recycling CVT Office Recycling Programs are suitable for hundreds of businesses. In a typical office environment, as much as 80 percent of waste is considered recyclable. |
With these programs, CVT collects, processes, recycles and
markets all recyclable items from the office environment. In addition, CVT’s Office
Recycling Support Programs educate and encourage employees to participate in recycling.
Companies participating in CVT Office Recycling utilize one of two available programs:
commingled or source-separated, each adaptable to specific needs of the business.
Commercial/Industrial Recycling Industrial operations require knowledgeable assessments to identify which materials are recyclable and how best to handle them. Since the 1984 opening of the CVT Regional Material Recovery Facility, more than 70 recyclable materials are processed and recovered at the facility.

Many of these are commonly used in manufacturing, commercial
and industrial operations, but not commonly considered recyclable. The CVT commercial and
environmental audit will identify these materials and assist CVT representatives in
implementing a recycling program which is economically beneficial and environmentally
sound.
Customized Routing Available within its contracted cities, CVT’s Commercial Recycling Division provides customized collection routing for businesses with minimum recycling generation and requirements. These routes are scheduled on the basis of type of business, thereby allowing for the collection of recyclables without contamination from regular waste. For example, office, bank or retail businesses waste are not commingled on the same collection route as restaurants or food suppliers to avoid contamination and increase processing efficiency. With this system, these businesses will be recycling “automatically” with minimum effort. |
